Famous rivers located on the coast are the Rogue River at Gold Beach to Medford, the Chetco River near Brookings and the Elk and Sixes Rivers near Port Orford. All of these famous rivers are with in a 45-minute drive of home base of Gold Beach.
The Rogue River, in addition to great Winter Steelhead fishing, also offers the states largest run of Summer Steelhead.

All of these famous rivers offer what steelhead fishing is suppose to be. Fresh from the Pacific Ocean, explode from deep emerald green pools when hooked to tear line from your reel in blistering runs which take your breath. 7 to 15 pound average with fish to 20 pounds. We have landed some true trophy fish over 25 pounds. Our experience can give you a trip to remember. We strive to fish remote areas; we have the necessary USFS permits to access the Siskiyou National Forest waters of the Rogue and Illinois Rivers. We will drift roe and pull plugs or Fly Fish. The season for runs December to March depending on river.
